Fried Chicken Caesar Taco
Savor the irresistible combo of two timeless classics in our Fried Chicken Caesar Taco recipe. Crispy chicken and savory chopped Caesar salad all come together in a crispy chicken taco shell.
Ingredients
- 1 (9.4-ounce) package Fresh Express® Caesar Chopped Salad Kit™
- 2 chicken breasts sliced in half horizontally
- 3 eggs
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 3 cups neutral oil
Instructions
- In a shallow bowl beat the eggs, in a separate bowl pour flour and add taco seasoning.
- Place chicken in a resealable bag and pound to ¼ inch thickness.
- In a medium sized sauté pan heat oil over medium heat.
- Season chicken breasts with taco seasoning.
- Place the chicken in the flour, then egg, and in the flour once again, pressing into the flour.
- Place in hot oil flipping once and fry to golden brown and internal temperature of 165°F, frying in batches to not overcrowd pan.
- Once cooked fully, fold over to create a taco shell shape and place a sheet pan on top for 3 to 4 minutes to hold shape.
- Place the lettuce from the Fresh Express® Caesar Chopped Salad Kit™, along with the croutons, cheese and Caesar salad dressing into a large bowl; toss to combine.
- Place the mixed salad inside of the fried chicken taco shells and serve.
